I’m taking an extra class in Typography at Seattle’s School of Visual Concepts. Even though I have a job and have long graduated from portfolio school, where I took many type classes- I feel that type is my biggest place for growth. Its my designers achilles tendon- I understand it, I can use it but its my weakest skill in my designer set. So what better way to work on it, then continue taking classes- especially with the revered Juliet Shen.
This assignment was to design our name/nickname into a 4x6 square lino block, and set it with hand-set type. I had a lot of iterations but ultimately landed on this design (inspired by Native).
